Why You Shouldn’t Accept Hindi Imposition #StopHindiImposition

Amit Shah today pitched for making Hindi the language that would be India’s identity.

“India is a land of many languages and every language has its relevance, but it is important to have one language across the entire country that will be the country’s identity abroad,” tweeted Amit Shah on Hindi Diwas.

While a few states only speak Hindi, why does RSS/BJP want to impose Hindi on everyone? Imposing Hindi everywhere is the brainchild of RSS to spread right-wing propaganda.

Stop Imposing Hindi

According to data of the 2001 census, Hindi is the mother tongue of less than 30 per cent of the Indian population. 30% of people speaking Hindi don’t represent the whole of India.

What sense does it make to make Hindi a national language or impose it on the rest of the 70% population? India doesn’t have any national language, only right-wing propagates that Hindi is the national language.

India is a diverse country, each place practices different forms of caste discrimination, with more than 1,600 languages. Out of this, 22 languages have been awarded the status of official languages. Under Article 343, both Hindi and English have been declared as official languages.

Government can’t enforce one particular language or culture on its citizens. BJP/RSS by imposing Hindi on everyone are trying to fulfil their ulterior motives. Rather than uniting people, such imposition would be harmful to national unity.

The more government will try to impose and force people to speak, dress or eat in a particular way, more people would resist and fight back.

While fixing one language on people, especially Hindi which doesn’t carry any value on an international level, governments are denying the rich history of other languages. Language is not just a medium of communication but each language represents whole history behind its evolution, which further represents identity of people speaking those languages. By denying that identity, history, is an injustice.

All these Sanghis and BJP leaders who are in favour of imposing Hindi, their own children study in English medium convent schools but they want to tell us what we should read and learn. Why the hell saving “your” language be our responsibility?

Let Brahmins read rubbish languages Sanskrit or Hindi, both carry no value at international level. Dalits must concentrate on learning English. Even RSS run schools Saraswathi Shishu Mandirs don’t teach children Sanskrit but these leaders of RSS want to impose their ideas of languages and culture on others. Screw Brahminism and their ideology of imposing language, food to what we wear etc.

What is the return on investment of learning Hindi? Nowhere in the list of top 10 languages which give you the most ROI. Why shall anyone invest time, money and energy where ROI is nothing? It’s all bloody politics by Brahminical parties to impose their shitty ideology.

Instead of learning Hindi, learn any foreign language and it would make you more rational. various studies have shown that working in a foreign language help people make better decisions and prone to less cognitive bias. Better to go for learning German, Spanish, French, Mandarin or Arabic than wasting time on Hindi.

According to another study by James Foreman-Peck of Cardiff Business School, has estimated that lack of foreign-language proficiency in Britain costs the economy £48 billion ($80 billion), or 3.5% of GDP, each year. I wonder what would be the similar economic costs to India? Think rationally and don’t fall prey to RSS’s motives.

After living in 3 different European countries and spending time travelling around the world, I can tell you with certainty that Hindi carries NO value at all. Nobody gives a shit to Hindi! No benefit of learning it at all. I was lucky that I didn’t waste my life learning Hindi.

My mother tongue is Punjabi and I would never accept Hindi being imposed on Punjab, neither should you.
