Shivaji Maharaj, Only King in the History Who Had 2 Coronation – Treachery of Brahmins

6th June marks the anniversary of the first coronation of Shivaji Maharaj. The first coronation because Shivaji had coronation twice! The first coronation of Shivaji Maharaj was done on 6th June 1674 and the second coronation was carried out a few months later on 24 September 1674.

Brahmins of Maharashtra were opposed to anoint Shivaji. According to the system of Chaturvarna, Shivaji was Shudra and not from Kshatriyas or Brahmins, who were only allowed to be king according to Brahminical scriptures. Even after winning and establishing the large kingdom, Shivaji was not considered eligible for the being a king by Brahmins. Not only Brahmins but Kshatriyas also didn’t want to accept Shivaji as a king.

Not a single Brahmin was ready to do the coronation ceremonial function of the shudra Shivaji.

Brahman’s refusal to crown Shivaji, meant a lot of the tribes would not follow him in battle, because he was not a legitimate king duly crowned, so Shivaji offered ten times as much to a Brahman called Gagabhat from Benares to perform the coronation ceremony on 6th June 1674. Even then the Brahman would not touch him with his hands to anoint his fore-head instead he used his left toe. Gagga Bhatta did the Brahminical thing in falsely certifying that Shivaji’s ancestors were Kshatriyas descended from the solar dynasty of Mewar. For this Shivaji had to give a large amount of money as well as gold and gift to Brahmin!

Shivaji mother Jijabai died on the 13th day after the coronation and another Brahmin named Nishchalpuri Goswami declared that the original coronation had been held under inauspicious stars, Ganga Bhatta Brahmin committed certain mistakes in performing the rites and a second coronation was needed. Such an attempt by Brahmins to fool Shivaji again and earn money. This second coronation took place on 24 September 1674. Various gifts were distributed to Brahmins and in the history, no one can find any such case that same King is being coronated twice. Such was the treachery of Brahmins and it is continuing still.

When Mirza Raja Jai Singh came from Delhi to fight Shivaji in Maharashtra, Brahmins conducted Yagna on the behalf of Jai Singh so that Shivaji loses the battle. Today these Brahmins promote that Shivaji was the protector of Brahmins and Hindu dharma then someone must ask them why did they conduct massive Yagna against Shivaji? Why did Brahmins oppose the coronation of Shivaji?

The name of Shivaji is mentioned with great pride throughout India, as one of the greatest warriors but to a Brahman he was nothing, but a Shudra. Such was and is the attitude and approach of the Hindus.
