Why Mayawati as PM Candidate is the Best Option for Opposition

In Indian politics, Mayawati’s name stands tall and every politician spends time figuring out what is Mayawati thinking and what would be her next moves. Mayawati and BSP are the biggest threat to BJP at the moment. With the rise in atrocities on Dalits and minority communities across India and no hope in near future, common masses in India are looking for a change in the 2019 elections.

With opposition fragmented at the moment, is there someone who can challenge BJP and RSS?

If there is an ideology that can challenge Hindutva that ideology is the Ambedkarite ideology, ideology to which BSP and Mayawati have adhered since inception. If BJP and RSS are scared of any ideology is Bahujan ideology. So to fight and beat BJP, which is supported by RSS, only Bahujans led party can do it.

There is no other political party in India other than BSP that has a large ground network as is needed to defeat BJP, which is supported by RSS’s network. BSP’s ground network with the resources from other political parties, if used effectively, can lead opposition to victory in 2019.

Projecting Mayawati as a Prime Minister candidate would raise the morale of every Dalit, which constitutes a large proportion of votes, and Dalits would vote for the candidates of the opposition en masse.

If today Congress to BJP is on the mercy of Dalit votes, credit goes to BSP. There is no other political party in India that has a tight grip on its vote bank as does BSP. Mayawati holds to power to transfer of Dalit votes to any alliance party, guarantee no other political party or leader can take pride in.

Opposition parties also know the importance of Dalit voters. They all want to grab those votes but why doesn’t opposition considers Mayawati as a Prime Minister?

If Mayawati would be projected as PM, BJP would find it difficult to attack opposition/Mayawati. BJP hasn’t done anything for Dalits in last 4 years or so, hence any attack on Mayawati would definitely be taken by Dalits seriously and as an offence.

Despite having no MP in Lok Sabha and only 19 MLAs in the Uttar Pradesh assembly, Mayawati has been able to influence election results be it in Phulpur to Gorakhpur or forming government in Karnataka. Such is the persona of Mayawati. Her one call and millions of Dalits would be ready to fight for her, ready to make her Prime Minister.

If the opposition is really serious about toppling BJP government, Mayawati is the best option for the opposition. Projecting Mayawati would mobilise millions of Dalits to fight against BJP’s propaganda.

Dalit will do everything to make sure that Mayawati becomes Prime Minister as she will be a sign of hope for oppressed around the world, coming from the Dalit family, the bottom rung of social order, and a woman and reaching top post would represent more than hope for oppressed around the world.

Mayawati has challenged Brahminism to its core with building Ambedkar Park to Dalit Prerna Sthal, in a state infected with Brahmanism and false ideology, she has challenged social norms and established herself. It’s a great achievement for someone who has no political family background and support.

Mayawati has always conquered the odds and succeeded despite many challenges. She has passed various tests to reach the level she is. When Kanshi Ram asked her to join his movement, Mayawati’s father threw her out for switching from the safe career of civil services to politics. After joining BSP, seniors in the BSP created obstacles to suppress Mayawati’s rise but she came victorious. When Mulayam Singh Yadav tried to scare her with Lucknow Guest House incident, it was Mayawati who came out as a winner and Mulayam Singh and SP were sidelined. When after the Kanshi Ram’s death in 2006, critics of Mayawati celebrated the thought it would be the downfall of BSP and Mayawati, but it was Mayawati who beat those predictions and won the majority in Uttar Pradesh in 2007. Mayawati has been trained and moulded by the political genius, Kanshi Ram, and she knows how to play cards of politics.

Some want Mayawati to play the role of Sutradhar (someone who brings different people together) but are uncomfortable with the idea of Mayawati being projected as PM. What worries them the most is that OBC and so-called upper castes voters would be alienated and wouldn’t vote for Mayawati. If Mayawati, incomparable lady, is capable of bringing opposition together why can’t she be the PM?

These facts or arguments can easily be counter-attacked that if Mayawati is projected as PM, almost all the Dalits, 25% of the population, as well as minority communities would be happy to vote and support Mayawati. Both communities form almost 40% of population and BJP at present is ruling with 31% of the votes so it’s just ignorance of some who believe upper caste votes are needed. Dalits, if get united, alone can make Prime Minister who is Dalit.

Further, taken into account some percentage of ‘liberal’ OBC or so-called upper castes, which can think beyond caste prejudices, would vote and support Mayawati can lead to opposition winning the 2019 general elections.  If the opposition is really serious about defeating BJP, Mayawati is the answer. There is no other leader in the opposition who carries the same persona and followership as Mayawati.

Dalits across India have rejected Congress and Rahul Gandhi doesn’t appeal to the Dalit population in a way Mayawati does. Other opposition leaders such as Mamata Banerjee etc don’t have presence or appeal outside their respective states. On the other hand, Mayawati’s appeal is presence is throughout north India, if not throughout India. Projecting her as a PM candidate would mobilize Dalit community to support an alliance.

Mayawati is 4 times Chief Minister of one of the biggest states in India and she knows the pulse of common people. Even her critics agree that in Mayawati’s rule law and order was the best. Mayawati is well known for strict law and order, which is the need of the hour in India, so Mayawati is the best option for India.

Ignoring Mayawati at the crucial elections would be suicidal for the opposition parties. The opposition must keep aside its casteist and misogynist mind and project Mayawati as the PM candidate.

If the opposition has any wisdom, it must unite behind the leadership of Mayawati, who can only lead opposition to victory.

I agree that CS Ravan’s presence in BSP will matter a lot.CS Ravan is surely famous in Bahujan Community but as of now, his fame is limited to the youth and social media users. but at the root level, Mayawati is more famous.

In this regard I differ and opine that the need of hour is search for new leadership in BSP.
Mayawati either to change her approach or be ready to see her debacle through shift in vote. BD Bodkar and, CS Raven will be able to prove their presence. Before Gen. Elections CS raven will be released and he is more likeable in scs in western UP today.
