Core Castes and Swing Castes – Election Analysis in India

In the Cambridge Analytica showdown, a lot of dirty secrets are coming in the open. The data companies were employed by the political parties for many analytics, but one of the major reasons to employ such agencies was to understand which castes constitute the core of the political party and which castes constitute the swing castes, and one can add another category, which castes constitute the “hostile” castes to the particular political party. In India, it is clear that the Indians do not cast their votes, they vote for their caste and therefore the expose does not convey anything unusual except that it validates the claims that everything in India is based on the caste system.

The political math mostly deals with this issue of how to add up the castes to win a certain constituency. The game that the upper castes played with a divide and rule policy will come to haunt India’s upper castes as predicted by Kanshiram Saheb. He rightly conjured that the mobilization of India’s so-called Dalits will destroy the caste system. The Dalits because of their common plight, common movement, and common symbol throughout India are bound to become the powerful political class in India. It is a matter of time. With their national consolidation, they will be the biggest and strongest political class in India and no political party can ignore them, not just because of their numbers, but because they are becoming one class, nay they have become the political and ideological class with a strong sense of responsibility for other classes as well.

This is reflected in the political party structures across India and the political alliances. If Mayawati is firm and mobilize her core castes, she will be approached by all the political parties and she can become the leader with an all India appeal across the regions and the states. Even if she does not, the ideological outreach of Phule-Shahu-Ambedkar is already creating havoc among the upper caste ranks. The SCs in the BJP are openly revolting against anti-Dalit policies and moves to thwart India’s democracy and the constitution. The BJP Dalit MP, Sadhvi Savitri Phoole, is a shining example of candid love for her own community. She openly said that she is the reserved candidate and she must protect the reservation and the interests of her community.

There are many MPs and MLAs, stools, stooges and agents in the ruling and other parties. Not only that there are Independent candidates also. They are not up to the expectations of the national transformation level. But their voices have been throttled by their masters. Unless they realise their status, they cannot revolt against the atrocities carried out on the downtrodden society like Sadhvi Savitri Phoole has done, at least she is aware of the iconic Phoole family of Maharashtra.

Dalit MPs & MLAs belonging to of BJP and other communal parties , who do not voice their protest against casteism politics and moves ,are to besocially boycotted by the Dalits immediately and they should be defeated in the next elections. They should realise that their party affliation is subject to social justice for Dalits i.e.continuation of reservation in education , employment and progressively achieving casteless. society
