As SP-BSP are trying to come together to fight BJP, Brahminical media is doing everything it can to prevent them from joining hands. There hasn’t been a single media in recent days which hasn’t mentioned Lucknow guest house incident in an attempt to keep SP-BSP apart. There are many on social media, apart from mainstream media, who are trying to revive old incidents which don’t bring sweet memories. One of such incident is of Lucknow guest house incident.  Some reports are saying that guest house room where Mayawati and other BSP MLAs were staying, the door of the room was broken and Mayawati’s clothes were torn. There are just rubbish claims by Brahminical media, which is not only hiding facts but misleading people.

On 1 June 1995, BSP withdrew support from SP government. On 2 June 1995, after the BSP’s announcement to withdraw from the coalition government of SP-BSP, angry SP workers attacked Lucknow’s Meerabai Guest House, where Mayawati and other BSP MLAs were gathered to discuss next political moves. Saheb Kanshi Ram was in the hospital where he was being treated for a brain clot.

Incident was one of the biggest mistakes that SP leadership ever committed that isolated it from the mainstage of politics. It’s considered as one of the darkest spots on the democracy in India. It had to bear the backlash from media but it is totally mischief by Brahminical media in saying that BJP MLA from Farrukhabad, Brahm Dutt Dwivedi, had rescued Mayawati during guest house incident in 1995. Brahm Dutt Dwivedi was staying at the same guest house at the time of the incident.

There were 2 police officers (SHO) and district magistrate Lucknow who had restored the situation, pushed mob back and formed a wall in the corridor so that no one could get past. Brahm Dutt and other BJP leaders had come to took Mayawati to Governor House, extend support to BSP, as Mayawati had to take oath as CM the next morning. Now imagine, two people have to go to Lucknow, one of them come to pick another person in his car, would you call that the first person, who came with a car to pick another, ‘rescued’ or ‘saved’ the second person?

So, in a similar manner, to say BJP leader ‘rescued’ or ‘saved’ Mayawati is completely misleading.

Brahm Dutt Dwivedi, despite in BJP, was a strong supporter of Mayawati and he was the one who just after the state election seeing the political situation where no party had majority started promoting Mayawati’s name but another BJP leader Kalyan Singh was dead against that. Moreover, one should check also who was behind the death of Brahm Dutt Dwivedi? Many believe Kalyan Singh, BJP leader, and his associates had masterminded the killing.

Brahm Dutt Dwivedi was an outspoken critic of Kalyan Singh and was at the forefront in the campaign to install a BJP-BSP government in Uttar Pradesh, where Mayawati became CM of the state for the second time in 1997. Maybe for the same reason, Mayawati referred to him as ‘brother’ sometimes. Also, maybe he was killed for the reason that BJP leadership didn’t want Mayawati as CM, which shows the sick mindset of BJP/RSS and extent to which BJP/RSS can go and eliminate one of their own.

Even Sakshi Maharaj, BJP MP, had also been linked with the murder of Brahm Dutt Dwivedi though charges were not proved. The prime accused, Vijay Singh, was then a member of the Congress was arrested but was released on bail and many years later awarded life sentence.

Saheb Kanshi Ram, lying on his hospital bed, described the ordeal of Mayawati and how she handled everything the during guest house incident as her ‘final test of courage’.

BSP and SP leadership has moved on from the incident so Brahminical media should devise new plan to create rifts.
