How Does the Wheel of Hindutva Moves?

The way Hindutva (and hence Brahminism) is made to sustain and function is easy to understand: look down upon the Scheduled Castes, keep the tribals locked in the regional fights, Hate Muslims (and other minorities), keep the OBCs/Shudras fuming, and protect the core of Hindutva terrorists by all means possible. In any event, one can see this pattern.

Look down upon the Scheduled Castes

The Scheduled Castes (and most of them followers of Babasaheb Ambedkar) have emerged as the custodian of the Indian constitution and democracy in India. They are the people who are leading the fight for social justice for all throughout India. They are the people who speak the language of the human rights for all and liberation for all. In fact, this class of people is the only group of people that is trying to keep the unity and integrity of the country as directed by the constitution of India. So whenever the Hindutva (Brahminism) tries to force the Manu Smriti, this is the group that rises all over India. The movement that Babasaheb Ambedkar started for the true democratization of Indian society is the only nationalistic movement that tries to safeguard the interest of all. The Hindutva forces tried to vilify the Scheduled Castes and create media sponsored propaganda to give a bad publicity.

In the recent attack on their pride after the battle of Bhima Koregaon in which the handful of them destroyed the vicious and cruel Brahmins numbering thousands, the Hindutva government in Maharashtra did not arrest the Brahmin terrorists, Bhide and Ekbote, who wanted to create rifts between the Mahars and Marathas throughout Maharashtra. Bhide and Ekbote should be punished for sedition. The media backed by the Hindutva (Brahminism) went to give even the bad press to the peaceful agitation by the people at large. Remarkably, the Scheduled Castes throughout India arose in opposing the Brahminical tyranny. Now contrast this with the vandalism of the Karani Sena over a movie, one can quickly see how the media is biased in this country.

So, what the Hindutva does is to paint the SCs as inferior, which is what they try to feed into the heads of the other castes through a well-crafted machinery that spews hate. However, the Scheduled castes have slashed all the glass ceilings imposed by the strict caste codes of the Manusmriti. They are everywhere and not just everywhere, they have excelled in all the walks of life.

Hate of Muslims of other Minorities

Many studies conducted over the period of time have demonstrated that the Indian Muslims are converted from the lower castes and it is officially recorded that they have come from the backward classes of India. Such is the case of the Indian Christianity as well that most of them are converted from the lower castes. Unfortunately, these religions are also distorted by the upper castes converts in these religions who benefit because of their erstwhile upper-caste status. The Muslims in India are influenced by the peaceful Sufi tradition and at the most, it can be called the syncretic faith which has peace as its core in India. It was not influenced by the Arab nationalism. Indian Muslims have never asserted any fundamentalist position. However, the Brahmins have been branding them as the anti-national and the enemy of the people. There must be some fringe elements in Indian Islam, but it is not true about the majority of the Muslims in India as they belong to this land and are converted from the backward classes.

The Muslims are therefore made target, but this targeting is not just confined to them but it is extended to the Christians as well.

Fuming the OBCs

The OBCs are not the homogenous groups. They are split into many castes and many groups. However, the dominant caste among them have politically risen all over the country and have become the strong foot soldiers of the Hindutva regime. Though some of them have risen politically because of the sheer number, there is growing discontent among the communities at large as there is no access to the education and the government jobs. So, one can see the rising discontent among them all over India. The small and weaker castes in them have nothing and they are crushed into pieces politically and socially. They are made to hate the Scheduled Castes by posing their rise as the weakening of their state of power. This is changing, but the change is slow and many of the groups within them are realizing the great fight of their ancestors like Jotiba Phule, Shahu Maharaj, and Periyar.

Keeping the tribal confined to the local fights

Tribals have been defined by various ways legally and hence in some parts even the Brahmins have been included as the tribals. However, the tribals who were living in the forests and mountains throughout India have been confined to their local issues and that they are not allowed to link up nationally. Some ideological movements have emerged that takes tribals in its fold, but they are also led by the upper castes ideologues sitting in the cities. The tribals have been reduced to fight for their survival which often led to become an internecine war between the brothers and sisters driven by the Hindutva land and mineral mafias.

From this small analysis, emerges the strategy to counter the Hindutva forces.

1. The Scheduled Castes must take the responsibility of the overall liberation of India from Brahminism, communalism, and casteism. This should be the core of their mobilization and core of their movement.

2. The Muslims should unite under the constitution of India and demand their fundamental rights guaranteed by the constitution of India.

3. The OBCs and the lower castes among them must join the fight with the likeminded castes and association to realize their rights and open up a strong anti-Brahmin front to dismantle the structure that keeps them lower

4. The Tribals must come out with a national level organization.

Now, this is ideally what should happen, but it can happen, as the communication between all these different groups is increasing and this increased interaction will lead to the end of the caste and downfall of the most oppressive system in the world: Brahminism!
