Why Brahmins Should Abolish Birth Based Reservation – Reply to Mr. Markandey Katju

[Recently, Mr Katju wrote an article on the First Post in which he argued without any data or references that reservation brings inferiority complex in SC/ST/OBCs and less than 1% are getting benefited from reservations. The following text written by Revolutionary Memes For Bahujan Teens is a short reply to Mr Katju’s article.]

1. The birth based reservation allows only a few percentages of Brahmins to join lucrative and lazy job like priesthood in temples. Rest of the Brahmins are left to become terrorists like Vikas Dubey, Komal Sharma, Gopal Sharma.

2. Reservations are doing great harm to the Brahmins for two reasons:

a) They act as psychological crutches to Brahmins, thus, weakening them. In other words, an impression is created among Brahmin youth that they need not study and work hard because even without doing so they will get admission or a job because of their connections and privileges.

b) Brahmins must throw aside the crutches of birth based reservation and say that they will work hard and show by competing with Bahujans that they are not intellectually inferior to Bahujans.

3. Hindu Dharmshastras use birth based reservations to further the cause of Brahmanism. So the real purpose of birth based reservations is not to benefit Hindus but only Brahmins.

4. Birth based reservations have further perpetuated the caste system, instead of helping in destroying it. Caste is a feudal institution, which has to be destroyed if India is to progress, but birth based reservations further entrench it.

Birth-based reservations are serving the policy of divide, as it create s animosity between Bahujans and Savarna-Brahmins. A Bahujan youth who works hard despite hurdles posted by caste-system may be denied admission/job while a Savarna-Brahmin, by virtue of his/her privileges/connections, might get it. This naturally creates heart burning in the former.
