“With the vision that no child in India shall be deprived of education because of social stigma and poverty, I established Mudita School, a school that empowers children from Dalit and Tribal community to break the cycle of caste discrimination and generational poverty through quality education, leadership, and compassion. Mudita School is a unique educational model school which operates a pre-K- to 12th class exclusively for children born into India’s lowest social and economic class. Our unprecedented educational models reach beyond individual children to tackle poverty and caste-based discrimination and create positive change in their families and communities,” says Bharat Wankhade.
In last one year, Mudita School has organized various educational camps in the poorest reasons of Amravati district of Maharashtra.
Bharat is among the first generations of young Ambedkarites who spent time with other Ambedkarite community of Gypsies in Hungary. He has expertise in raising funds and project management. He founded Mudita (which is Pali word and mean Sympathetic Joy) to cater to the educational needs of poor children around villages in Amravati district. He runs Mudita School for underprivileged children.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, Bharat witnessed a lot of hardship for poor villagers and daily wage labourers around his village and he could not stop himself from not responding.

The early funds came from his own brother, Kapil, and his wife Ranjana who put up their one month salary towards providing relief to the poor people, and afterwards his whole family and friends join to support the relief work. Along with his wife and brother, Bharat cycled in the hot afternoons around the villages to take stock of the situation. He found that many families have no food in their homes and some of the families did not eat for 2 or 3 days. So far till now, with the help of his family and friends, Bharat provided rations and essential goods to 85 families in many villages, and his work still going on.
Bharat combines his grassroots level experience with training in international institutes to find effective solutions for community problems. The relief work that he carried out is a testimony to his intention to serve in all possible ways.
