All India Ambedkarite Social Work Professionals’ Conclave 2019

14-15 December 2019 at Nagaloka, Kamptee Road, Nagpur

Social movements are necessary for social transformation. Social movements are contextualized in a particular social context. In India, social exclusion in the form of a caste system is anti-thesis of Democracy. It is against constitutional values and constitutional morality. Hence assertion through social movements and the creation of new knowledge is always paramount. These are needed so that the protection, enforcement, and rectifying processes are ensured for the realization of constitutional rights. However, the backbone of such operations needs to be rooted in democratic processes, the essential feature of which is deliberations and discussions. This may or may not result in networks and associations, which raises the consciousness of kind in context to values and morals enshrined in the Indian Constitution.

Hence, it becomes the responsibility of every Ambedkarite to identify, recognize, and implement methods and procedures to remove challenges before the constitution, the most prominent being the exclusion of the deprived and oppressed. If Ambedkarites do not do it, nobody else is trusted to be doing it.

As Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar had urged, “Blessed are those who are alive to the duty of raising those among whom they are born. Blessed are those who vow to give the flower of their days, their strength of soul and body and their might to further the campaign of resistance to slavery.” Hence, to think, discuss and act for upliftment among those we are born, a conclave has been organized on 14th and 15th December in Nagaloka, Nagpur.
