How To Serve India?
Looking around India today, we can easily see signs of the attack on the constitution and weakening of democracy. If we love our country, it is necessary to protect and preserve constitutional values and democracy. Some people think that having periodic elections and electing representatives through the first-past-the-post system is a democracy. This is not true unless we understand the positive and negative goals.
Let us try to understand the negative goals. These negative things must be destroyed if we as a nation is to survive on the level of vision that the constitution has placed before us. There are five negatives that must be destroyed: casteism, communalism, poverty, monopoly of a few, and regionalism.
1. Casteism: This is the enemy number one of India. As Babasaheb Ambedkar described castes are anti-national. Any lover of the country will have to have this agenda. You go in any direction in this country, we face this monster. We cannot become a democratic country unless caste is defeated. This will mean the destruction of Brahmanism. Are we prepared to save our country from the menace of Brahmanism?
2. Communalism: Indian society today is not Indian, but fractured into religions and worst kind of religious fundamentalism. The religion-based nationalism advocated today is against the interests of India. Instead of promoting the civil, social, and economic-based nationalism that will ensure justice to all, we see the ugly crop of nationalism based on religion. Can we throw religion and embrace our country? So far, we place religion above the country, we cannot develop.
3. Poverty: The incidences of poverty in India are high. No political party or movement is talking about how poverty can be destroyed in India. There is no plan, no discussion, no agenda to destroy poverty.
4. The monopoly of a few: Every public institution in India is monopolised by a few. Judiciary is cornered by a few families. The Economy is controlled by a handful of people. The Bureaucracy is in the hands of a few. India is run by the deep state and its various organs. Unless we destroy these enemies of India, we cannot make progress.
5. Regionalism: The unbalanced regional growth and shifting power in the hands of a few from the same region is against the spirit of unity in diversity. This regionalism is reflected in the position of power and powerful institutions.
Unless we make it a public movement against these five negatives, our country is doomed.
