Brahmin leader Arun Jaitley passed away at the age of 66 on Saturday, a week after he was admitted to AIIMS following complaints of breathlessness and restlessness.

Here we remember a Saraswat Brahmin leader who did a lot for the Brahmin community in India and worked hard to oppose rights of Dalits and minority communities.

During his time at the university, he became a member of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of the pro-Hindu organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), famous for attacking minority communities.

Brahmin leader, Jaitley, was among those who had supported PM Modi when he was under pressure for his role in the Godhra riots.

While taking pride in BJP’s Hindutva agenda and turning India into Hindu Rashtra, Arun Jaitley had said to another Janeudhari brahmin, Rahul Gandhi that if the original Hindutva party is available, why would one prefer a clone? Building Ram Mandir at Ayodhya was prime agenda for him and his party.

Brahmin leader Jaitley came to support Dow Chemicals and had said, “Dow cannot be held liable for the clean-up.”  Maybe for a few pennies, the Brahmin leader not only sold his soul but betrayed the whole nation. When 1000s of people had died in Bhopal Gas tragedy how could Dow company be not responsible? He appeared once again weak and poor lawyer.

The brahmin leader, Jaitley, appeared very weak in his position as a law minister as well. In an attempt to save Mr Anderson, chairman of the Dow, in his note, Brahmin leader Jaitley had said: “It is not the case that Mr. Anderson committed any act that led to the direct result of the leakage of gas and the consequent loss of lives and injuries.” He maintained that “there is no evidence that Mr. Anderson had knowledge of design defects and violations of safety requirements, and yet he failed to take proper remedial measures.” He felt that the case for extradition was based on a presumption that Mr. Anderson had such knowledge merely by virtue of his position as chairman of the parent company. Mr. Jaitley’s note added that there was no evidence to show that the parent company exercised control over the day-to-day operations and running of the Bhopal plant.

As a Finance Minister Brahmin leader, Arun Jaitley, described the 2012 Delhi gang-rape as “one small incident of rape in Delhi.” “One small incident of rape in Delhi advertised world over is enough to cost us billions of dollars in terms of global tourism,” Mr Jaitley said at a tourism ministers’ conference.

As a lawyer, the Brahmin leader appeared on the behalf of cold drink companies, Pepsi and Coca Cola, and challenged that Cola companies shouldn’t be made to list pesticides (the court had deliberated on the presence of pesticides in soft drinks based on a study by the Centre for Science and Environment) and Brahmin leader maybe wanted to argue that is fine to kill innocents by misleading them so that these multinational companies could continue to make profit at the cost of innocent lives.

Brahmin leader, Jaitley advocated economically weaker sections reservation said it is not against the Constitution, which not only shows that was not really good lawyer but shows his inexperience in knowing why the reservation was introduced in the first place. The reservation was not poverty alleviation program.

In an attempt to impose Hindi on masses, Brahmin leader presented the 2018 budget in Hindi and English.

While the budget should have been focusing on economic and social development, Brahmin leader, Jaitley made it linguistic engineering plan. As a Finance minister, he failed to revive the economy and effects of his failures are visible right now with the slowdown in the market and loss of millions of jobs.

As a finance minister, a Brahmin leader helped another Brahmin, Vijay Mallya, loot and escape India with almost 10,000 crore rupees. Many believed that Brahmin leader had taken a bribe to help and let Vijay Mallya leave the country, well, we might never know that now.

In another incident, to save another upper-caste fraudster, Chanda Kochhar and her husband Deepak Kochhar, Brahmin leader Jaitley targetted investigating agency CBI for revealing the names of culprits stating that naming the corrupt bank officials will not help in the investigation!

His decision to demonetisation was a big deliberate assault on the Indian economy and cost 100s of lives and his faulty and hurriedly imposed implementation of GST turned Indian economy upside-down.

Brahmin leader’s name also appeared in Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) scam and Rafale deal scam. Some believe that the brahmin leader could safely be assumed as the leader of scamsters.

Throughout his life, Brahmin leader, Arun Jaitley, worked ‘breathlessly and restlessly’ to establish Hindu Rashtra. Maybe after realising that Hindu Rashtra isn’t insight caused more ‘breathlessness and restlessness’ and damaged his health beyond recovery. His death is a great loss to the Brahmin community of India.

May his soul ‘rests’ wherever it finds a place.
