After PM Modi faced huge protests on 18th April outside Downing Street, London, Dalits once again protested against PM Modi’s visit to Ambedkar House in London.

The person who played an important part in taking the statue of Dr Ambedkar to Ambedkar House is protesting outside!

While crimes against Dalits have increased many-times in India and minority communities suffering, BJP and Modi are misguiding the world with their propaganda.

Dalits were protesting against the caste discrimination practices, PM Modi’s silence on the atrocities on Dalits and demanding justice for the rape victim, Asifa, of Kathua. According to one report, under BJP government hate speech by VIPs have increased more than 500% and no action has been taken by Modi government.

PM Modi’s silence on increased crime on Dalits and minority community speaks louder than his fake promises of inclusion and ‘ache din’. Under BJP government in last 4 years, the only focus has been on cows and development as promised has been elusive.

Dalits around the world are angry at BJP government that it diluted the SC/ST Act that had provisions for safeguarding Dalits against the atrocities of so-called upper castes. Dalits in the UK demand that ordinance be brought and provisions which were diluted by the court order be restored.

Dalits gathered outside the Ambedkar House at King Henry’s Road (Dr. Ambedkar lived in the house, at 10 King Henry’s Road, while he was a student in the 1920s) with posters to protest against Modi’s planned visit. Human rights activists and vocal speaker against the atrocities on Dalits in India, Satpal Maman and Shekhar Bodhkar were at the forefront of organising the protest.

Now, as elections in 2019 are coming closer BJP/RSS is trying its best to divert the attention from development and garlanding and inaugurating Dalit-Bahujan icon’s statues. Protesters believe that Modi government has killed constitution written by Babasaheb Ambedkar and with PM Modi’s visit to Ambedkar House, BJP is playing just vote politics. BJP and PM Modi’s actions don’t speak that they follow Dr Ambedkar’s principles and the path shown.

Dalit-Bahujans understand politics played by BJP/RSS in the name of Dr Ambedkar and that’s one of the reasons that Dalits in London were protesting against the PM Modi’s visit to Ambedkar House.

When PM Modi came to know about the protest being taking place in front of the Ambedkar House in London, he canceled his visit!
