The Battle Between Caste and Anti-Caste – Lingayats’ Revolt
Lingayats have declared that they are not Hindus. They were never part of Hinduism, as a matter of fact, no OBC is the part of Hinduism as technically Hinduism cannot be defined like other religions. Why Hinduism evades any definition is because it is just a name imposed by the “Brahmins and Indologists” in the recent times on the larger body of the people divided into hundreds of castes and tribes. Hence no community in India can be subsumed under the larger category of Hindus. The only category that could have passed the test of being called Hindu is the caste and its practice, for Hinduism is nothing but casteism and justification of casteism.
So Lingayats, as the great Basavanna taught, is the religion that teaches no caste and not only that it is the religion that is against caste system and by implication it stands for free and equal society. The fact the Lingayats should not forget if they wish to continue to evolve as a great humanitarian religion. The great Lingayats activists and scholars like Gauri Lankesh gave sacrificed their lives for the cause of equality.
The Brahminism has aligned with the global right. The neo-nazism and Indian Brahminism are working together, but the communities at large, particularly, the Jews, are failing to understand the way Brahminism is at the heart of the growing alt Right. In this situation, the Indian non-Brahmin movement needs to have more consolidation that the Brahminism is now very close a doctrine to the White Supremacists. In fact, the “Aryan” race is one of the rallying points of the White Supremacists.
The Brahminism in India got new lease of life when the RSS/BJP came to power, but it is not going to last as in the given situation “Hinduism” is failing to make that appeal on the behalf of the Brahmins as the OBCs are consolidating in the north and in the south the regional parties of the non-Brahmins are consolidating against the centrist tendencies. The centrist tendencies are anti-national and they consolidate the power of the Brahmins. If one look at the Brahmin ministers in the union government who are not directly elected, one will get an idea. The non-meritorious Brahmins have been given the important positions in the union government.
While this is going on, the Congress is doing its best to keep the intact fight for morality “within” Hinduism to the extent that Rahul Gandhi is calling himself a Pandava posed against the Kauravas. Even one discounts the rhetorical part of it, it is clear that Rahul Gandhi is not ready to challenge the system: the caste system. He is too lame and weak, but Congress will not get any ground in South India with its love for Hinduism for sure and in the North, the mobilisation among the SCs and OBCs will further weaken it. The Congress has no ideology and no honest leadership to fight the social evils of India.
