What We, Babasaheb Ambedkar Followers, Think and What We Do
99% of Dalits are aware of name Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar but they don’t know about the actual struggle what he went through to provide these facilities to us. Facilities which we, Babasaheb Ambedkar followers, are enjoying today be it the freedom to speak or go to school. So not being conservative let’s focus on today’s reality.
Today how many of us follow the principles of Babasaheb Ambedkar, all we know about his slogan i.e. Shikshit bano, sangharsh karo, sanghatih bano, but how many of us are actually following it? Just writing Jai Bheem on Facebook will not bring major change.
The Importance of Education
We have very low percentage of literate people in our community and in fact we have a very poor ratio as compared to other social groups. Many are not able to get primary education forget senior secondary.
Dr Ambedkar sacrificed his life not that people will only chant Jai Bhim and not educate others. Education increases our intellectual level and we should try to educate our community no matter how many difficulties come on our way we should have one main target of educating our community.
Without right education, oppressor can oppress us easily and that’s what we are seeing it years after independence that we are still being oppressed.
Another issue, according to records over 55% of prisoners in jail are Dalits and Muslim (no matter many of them are on fake cases registered by manuwadi people) that’s a shame all of us and whole community. Having a huge percentage of illiterates make it easier for others to implicate in fake cases and our people don’t even know basic rights they have.
Educating others is the basic ideology of Ambedkarism and in the present scenario, our graduate students sacrifice their life for 10k basic salary job and settle with that without giving any importance to the higher levels of education which will open doors of more opportunities and a better life. We regret later for not having gone for higher education.
We have to understand that we are not for cleaning the sewerage and doing all kind of pathetic jobs. With proper education can ameliorate our society and without educating ourselves next 2 principles of Babasaheb Ambedkar about unity and struggle can’t be imagined.
Babasaheb Ambedkar followers must emphasise on education and our overall development. In today’s world, even a sport’s player need enough understanding to understand the scientific scenario which is used in sports so education is not only a way to becoming a scholar but it is a process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits. It is an aid for us to express our views, demands in front of others, put forward the difference in our thoughts.
In the present world, those who cannot put much effort on their education must improve their skills in any other field which they can earn social respect and money and we as a community also should support those people. Government launches various schemes for uplifting the social and economic lower classes but they are not cognitive enough to understand the procedure to get the benefits of these schemes are so complex that not many understand. We need to come forward and help each other to avail those schemes. Again, education plays an important role in every aspect of life. At last, I just want to say to Babasaheb Ambedkar followers that inspire, motivate yourself and others to get educated for the unity and for the struggle for equality.

Stop using the word “dalit”… Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar in his entire struggle and in his books or speeches… He never quoted the word either use to say “scheduled caste” or “avarna”… Etc.. See the scheduled caste commission report of jan 8,2008.
Akhil,
To make your claim on 55% inmates in jail sound and unchallengeable, please quote invariably source based on which make such statements. Else nobody will take it seriously.
