The Bombay High Court has granted bail to Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur accused of plotting the September 2008 blasts in Maharashtra’s Malegaon, in which seven people were killed.

The Malegaon bomb blast and the Samjhauta Express bomb blasts were conducted by the Hindu nationalists killing several people. This is an act of terror. Many times RSS members were found experimenting with the bombs and their failed attempts raised a lot of dust, which the media settles very soon.

On one hand, the Muslims in India are looked upon as the suspected terrorists and anti-nationals, in the strange and twisted way the RSS terrorists have been branded as the national heroes.

The Muslim youths are hunted and jailed for small suspicions, but the terrorists like Sadhvi Pragya and Purohit are scot free. Sadhvi Pragya, the conspirator of the bomb blasts, is released on bail. The BJP/RSS rode to power by promising the citizens that it will work for inclusive India and that it will make India corruption free.

The citizens of this country were fed up with 10 years rule of UPA during which the UPA government did not do much to alleviate the problems of the people. When it understood that and wanted to legislate social policies, it was too late. The Indians chose a non-Congress party because it failed to deliver. The BJP came to power as also an anti-incumbency factor was pivotal.

The BJP/RSS did not come to power because it advocated Hindu Nationalism (Supremacy of the Brahmans in other words). It cannot come into power by inciting people on the basis of Hindutva directly, but it is also an important factor in the BJP/RSS strategy. Without Hindutva rhetoric, they cannot polarise the Hindus divided into caste into one electoral identity.

To pose as anti-Muslim, BJP/RSS elects the Hindu spokesperson. The strategy still works. It seems that it worked in UP when the parties like the Congress, the SP, and BSP were projected as pro-Muslim parties and hence anti-Hindu. The polarization apparently helped the BJP to corner the fringe votes. It is a strange logic, but its irrationality cannot be dealt with rational thinking. The polarization takes place is a fact of India’s politics.

The RSS/BJP is slowing paying its tributes to the Hindu terrorists are clear. After the UP victory, the RSS/BJP appointed Adityanath as the Chief Minister, the person who is infamous for his vitriolic attack on Muslims. Perhaps he is groomed by the RSS/BJP as the next PM of this country. Releasing terrorists like Sadhvi Pragya is one of signs of things to come.

The under trial Muslim youths are killed in the encounter in the BJP ruled state and the terrorist is released on the bail. Where are we heading as a nation?

The act of violence is not desired in the democratic set-up where the possibilities of discussion and debates exist. Terrorism in any form disturbs the fabric of the society. The terrorism is unleashed every time a Dalit is murdered by the caste Hindu, every time a Dalit woman is raped, every time a Muslim youth is killed with the trial, and every time when a train is blasted.

Violence will rip apart our country. We must stop it by all means, which means that the people involved in the violence must be dealt with firmly and that is why so called Sadhvi Pragya must be punished according to Indian laws. But it is not possible now, as the BJP/RSS is forcing NIA to change the charges on the RSS supported terrorists.
