BJP has decided that Yogi Adityanath will be the next CM of the Uttar Pradesh. Yogi Adityanath has a history of controversial statements and inciting hatred against minority communities.

Here are a few of Yogi Adityanath’s anti-Muslim, anti- Christian statements –

His profile page on Lok Sabha MP lists says special interests as yoga and spirituality campaigning for cow-protection and promotion. He wants those to leave Hindustan who want to avoid Yoga! Further, he has said those who oppose Surya Namaskar should drown themselves in Sea!

In 2009, he asked the Centre to pass a national law banning cow slaughter. In an another Bill, he asked for the country’s name to be changed from “India that is Bharat” to “Bharat that is Hindustan”.

Recently, he supported USA President Trump’s immigration ban on citizens from seven Muslim-majority nations. He had said similar action is needed to contain terror activities in India also.

He is against Mother Teresa also and had said “Teresa was part of a conspiracy for Christianisation of India. Incidents of Christianisation had led to separatist movements in parts of North-East, including Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland,”

When BJP came to power at center in 2014, he was the main driver of Ghar Wapsi in which Christians and other minority communities were forced to convert to Hinduism.

Almost 2 years ago, he wanted Muslim places of worship to feature Hindu deities and had said, “if given a chance, we will install statues of Goddess Gauri, Ganesh and Nandi in every mosque.”

He is hardline Hindutav and has said many times that this is the century of Hindutva, not just in India but in the entire world.

In 2015, he was the leading figure in attacking minority communities on the name of “Love Jihad” as he believes that Muslims are attempting to seduce Hindu women in order to convert them to Islam!

He wanted to Dadri lynching victim Mohammad Akhlaq’s family be charged for cow slaughter and all the benefits given to them should be taken back.

Further, his anti-Muslim stand doesn’t stop here, he has given similar statements many times, “If one Hindu is killed, we won’t go to the police, we’ll kill 10 Muslims.”

Remember Yogi Adityanath was sitting on the same stage from where his man was speaking and asking Hindus to rape dead Muslim women?

Just after winning the election, his organisation Hindu Yuva Vahini, a right-wing outfit, had put posters in some villages asking Muslims to leave the village!

Yogi’s name is linked to the 2007 communal violence in Uttar Pradesh. His inflammatory speeches allegedly led to the riots in the state and his arrest for the same.

Apart from these, he had compared Shah Rukh Khan to Hafiz Saeed, a terrorist!

Before elections his organisation Hindu Yuva Vahini was reported saying that he will campaign against BJP and field his own MLAs, what changed the mind of BJP?

Is it the true face of Hindutav and BJP that those who threaten and incite hatred among communities be given prominent positions?

Is India progressing towards becoming a society where criminals and abusers are rewarded? Is this the New India that PM Modi was talking about? New India where anti-minority becomes CM?

The poster that got Yogi Adityanath the job of Uttar Pradesh CM?

Nothing profitable is expected from this communal rabble rouser for UP. Riots will push back development, investment will be hard to come. These kind of persons are worshipped by people of low ethical standards. UP’s developmental clock will be set back by few decades. Mauryaji, would have been a better choice to this crucial political post.
